Kau‘i Ginger

Large displays of Red Ginger was a weekly practice. From her farm at Pueopaku, Kauʻi Enoka raised the most grand blossoms! Every week, rain or shine, she brought a couple dozen to our shop on Kīlauea Avenue. This continued when we moved to Kamehameha Avenue, often filling our shop with dozens of red and pink gingers. The perfectly symmetrical blooms were an inspiration from the earliest years. We honor Kauʻi today with this new collection of blooms!

Melia’s Pua

When we opened shop on Market Street in Wailuku, Maui, we were given rooms at the Old Wailuku Inn. Outside the windows grew one of my favorite plumerias, a deep burgundy. As a child, it was this variety that we chose to make our lei for May Day. In tribute, this plumeria was created for Melia Johnson and her ʻohana for their warm aloha to us.
